About Memorial-Land

About Memorial-landMemorial Land began a short time after I had realized the need for many people around the world, who travel thousands of miles to Jerusalem not only to experience the history and culture but also order to commemorate and preserve the memory of their dear relatives and friends who had passed away. Everyday hundreds, sometimes thousands of people line up for an opportunity to walk inside the famous Holy Dwelling to connect to the Higher Power, feel the energy, and absorb the sense of history which resinates within the walls of the spectacular Church. Thousands of candles are lit, all with a blessing and many with the sole purpose of elevating a spirit in Heaven and reviving the memory of the lost soul through the brightness of the burning flame.

It all began some time after I started working in Jerusalem, not too far from the Old City. My work as a hotel concierge required much interaction with people from around the world. This is how I got to know and talk to one of the hotels returning guests, Mary. Mary's stories of travel and life experience were a true inspiration to me, and one day as we were chatting about her visit, she received terrible news that her mother had suddenly passed away. I felt awful, and felt a sudden urge to console her. So of course I offered the famous “let me know if there is anything I can do for you” proposition... And there was... Mary had to rush home to arrange for the funeral, and before she left the last thing she requested was that I went after work to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to say a prayer and light a candle in her mothers name.

That evening after I had clocked out, I walked up to the Old City, went inside the church and did as Mary had wished of me. I felt a deep sense of responsibility and was truly humbled by the experience. I felt like a messenger for her while she was away grieving with her family. At that moment I knew I had a mission. I had no idea how I would get it done, I just knew that I would... A few hundred candles, and a couple of short years later, Memorial-Land is proud to be the largest organization in the world to provide the unique opportunity of blessing a lost loved-one, in one of the most Sacred and Historical settings in the entire world.
