Rotunda and Aedicule

The Rotunda is located in the center of the Anastasias, beneath the larger of the church's two domes. In the center of the Rotunda is the chapel called The Aedicule, which contains the Holy Sepulcher itself. The Aedicule has two rooms. The first one holds The Angel's Stone, a fragment of the stone believed to have sealed the tomb after Jesus' burial. The second one is the tomb itself. In the burial room are 43 lamps burning day and night. The tomb itself is covered with marble stone and three bullets symbolizing Jesus resurrection (Greek-Anastasias). The tomb is empty since Jesus was resurrected three days after his death.
