Cartha DeLoach, Veer Bhadra Mishra, Malachi Throne, Ewald-Heinrich von Kleist & Clive Burr have passed away. May their souls rest in peace.




Cartha DeLoach July 20, 1920 – March 13, 2013
Former deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cartha DeLoach, has passed away at the age of 92. Born in Claxton, Georgia, DeLoach attended Gordon Military College and later the University of Stetson before securing a position with the FBI in 1942 where he was to become the third most senior member after Clyde Tolson and J Edgar Hoover. He was involved with the investigation into the assassination of President Kennedy and claimed that President Johnson thought that the CIA has something to do with the murder. He retired in 1970 and 25 years later penned "Hoover's FBI." DeLoach is survived by his wife, four sons, three daughters and numerous grandchildren.

Veer Bhadra Mishra: December 25, 1938 – March 13, 2013
Environmentalist, scientist and spiritual guide, Veer Bhadra Mishra, has passed away aged 74. Mishra was born in Varanasi, India, and went on to become the professor of hydraulic engineering and head of the civil engineering department at India's Institute of Technology. His other roles included High Priest of the Sankat Mochan Humuman Temple and a leading member of the National Ganga River Basin Authority. He was the founding president of the Sankat Mochan Foundation and in 1992 was recognized by the United Nation's Environment Program with an inclusion on their Global 500 Roll of Honor. Seven years later, Mishra was named by "Time" Magazine has "Hero of the Planet." He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.

Malachi Throne: December 1, 1928 – March 13, 2013
Stage and TV actor, Malachi Throne, has passed away aged 84. Born in New York City, Throne's first acting appearance came at the age of ten when he played Huckleberry Finn in a stage adaptation of "Tom Sawyer." Throughout the 1960s and 70s, he was a regular actor in a host of television shows such as "The Fugitive," "Hogan's Heroes" and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." It is for his roles in "Batman" and "Star Trek" for which he will be most remembered. Throne was also a member of Hollywood's Theater West Company and performed regularly at the Fountain Theater in Los Angeles where he was a favorite of the critics. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Ewald-Heinrich von Kleist: July 10, 1922 – March 8, 2013
The last surviving member of the July 20 1944 plot to kill Adolf Hitler, Ewald-Heinrich von Kleist, has passed away aged 90. Born near Koszalin, Germany, to parents who were strongly opposed to the Nazi regime, Kleist joined the army in 1940 at the age of 18 and soon volunteered for a suicide mission to murder Hitler, which failed due to the Fuhrer changing his plans at the last moment. Unlike his fellow plotters, Kleist escaped a death sentence and was instead sent to a concentration camp and then back to the front line of the war. He later became a Knight of Honor and then a Knight of Justice of the Protestant Order of Saint John and in 1962 founded the Munich Conference on Security Policy. He also had a career in publishing. Kleist is survived by his wife.

Clive Burr: March 8, 1957 – March 12, 2013
English rock drummer, Clive Burr, has passed away at the age of 56. Formerly a member of rock band, Samson, Burr joined Iron Maiden and played on their first three albums. He was born in London, UK, and it was through his friendship with Iron Maiden guitarist, Dennis Stratton, that he was invited to join the group in 1979. They were among the leaders of the British New Wave Heavy Metal scene. He was sacked from the band in 1982 having also appeared on their films "The Number of the Beast" and "Run to the Hills." He later played with the bands Trust, Alcatrazz and Gogmagog. In 2005, he donated his famous white drum kit to London's Hard Rock Café. Burr is survived by his partner, Mimi.
