THE HOLY SEPULCHER

The Holy Sepulcher

Right on the place where Jesus was crucified buried and resurrected, where he experienced human pain and suffering in order to spread light, comfort and goodness to the world, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher was built.

It was 325 years after the miraculous and dramatic events took place, that changed the world for ever, when Saint Helena, mother of Constantine, found the cross and the tomb of Jesus, and decided to build the Church of the Holy Sepulcher on the exact place where Jesus was crucified and buried.

In this remarkable place - many miracles occurred, including the miraculous resurrections of many people after the death of Christ (Matthew 27:51-54 ESV).

"And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, 53 and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many. 54  When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, “Truly this was the Son[a] of God!"
